Do I need a medical marijuana card/prescription from my doctor to purchase Mary’s Medicinals products?

The answer varies from state to state. In states where “recreational” or “adult use” marijuana is permitted, you do not need a card. Some states only allow marijuana for “medical use”, which means that you will need to obtain a license from a marijuana doctor before purchasing any products sold in dispensaries. Please check your state’s regulations to find out the requirements where you live.

There are no dispensaries in my state. Where can I get your products? Can you mail them to me if I obtain a prescription from my doctor?

At this time, it is not legal to cross state lines with marijuana-derived products, and all marijuana products must be consumed in the state where they were purchased. We cannot advise you to travel to another state to purchase our products, and we are not able to ship Mary’s Medicinals products to you. However, we do offer a line of top-quality hemp-derived CBD products that we can ship. Please visit for more details.

Are the effects of using a transdermal patch and smoking cannabis the same?

In some ways yes, but in other ways no. Smoking cannabis typically results in a “high” that has a fast onset and wears off relatively quickly. Mary’s Transdermal Patches, however, are designed to deliver a slow and consistent dose over a period of 8-12 hours. Keep in mind that while the patches do contain THC, we offer a variety of products that are relatively low in THC and feature other, non-psychoactive cannabinoids. For example, a 10mg CBD patch will have approximately 10mg of CBD and considerably less THC–-usually about 1mg. Check the packaging of the patch for exact cannabinoid content.

What ingredients are in your patches/gels/compounds/capsules?

Our products are created from carefully extracted cannabis oil, which is enriched with cannabinoids and terpenes. The full list of ingredients is on the packaging of each Mary’s product.

I don’t like the high from smoking marijuana. Will your products make me feel high?

THC is the primary cannabinoid that causes the traditional “high” feeling that people associate with cannabis. Because our products are derived from marijuana, they contain some THC. All of our products specify the cannabinoid content on the packaging. We always suggest starting with a low dose until you know how you will react.

How long do the effects of the patch last?

Based on body composition, metabolism, cannabis use and level of pain, the patch should last approximately 8-12 hours.

What are the effects of the Transdermal Patch, and how soon will I feel them?

Users generally start to feel the effects within the first 20 minutes of applying the patch. Be advised, you will experience consistent, systemic relief rather than the traditional high feeling that is commonly associated with cannabis products.

Can I apply more than one Transdermal Patch at a time? Can I use half of a patch?

For a severely ill patient or a regular cannabis user, multiple patches may be required to achieve the desired effects. However, most customers report benefits from using a single patch or by cutting the patch into halves or quarters. Because the contents of the patch are evenly distributed, if you cut the patch in half, you will get half the dose. For example, a 20mg THC patch can be cut in half to get 10mg per piece, or 5mg per piece if cut into quarters.

How do your transdermal products compare to other cannabis products?

Our transdermal products deliver cannabis directly into the bloodstream, avoiding first-pass metabolism by the liver and breakdown by stomach acids. This means that a lower dose is likely to be much more effective and consistent than non-transdermal products.

How do I use the Gel Pen?

Each Gel Pen uses our unique child-safe dosing mechanism. Simply rotate the top portion of the pen counter-clockwise to unlock the child safety mechanism, and turn in the opposite direction to lock it after dispensing. To dispense, push down on the top of the pen. The tip will dispense 2mg of gel per click. Rub gel onto a veinous area of the body, such as your wrist, ankle or top of the foot.

Can I use Mary’s products with other prescriptions?

We are unable to give medical advice. You should always speak with your doctor before making any medical decision.

Are your products “all natural”?

With all of our products, we give thoughtful consideration to ensuring that every ingredient that is delivered into the body, including our carrier compounds, cannabinoids and terpenes, are natural and non-toxic. Since our capsules are plant-based, vegan, GMO-free and gluten-free and contain no additives or organic volatile impurities, we proudly claim that these products are all natural. However, no transdermal patch can truly be “all natural” or “organic” since, by the very definition of a patch, an adhesive and foam or other backing material is required. We use a pharmaceutical-grade adhesive and a hypoallergenic foam backer to manufacture our patches.

Do you test your products?

Mary’s also works with independent quality-control labs for third-party validation of the quality of all final products. Test results are always available upon request.
